About the artist:
K.S. Radhakrishnan was born in 1956 in Kerala. He completed his BFA and MFA in sculpture from Visva Bharti University at Santiniketan. K.S. Radhakrishnan is one of the most notable artists among the new generation of sculptors who have successfully brought about a definitive resurgence in Indian contemporary art. Like many of his contemporaries, he is a figurative sculptor. His sculptures range from the small and intimate in scale to the large and lofty in dimension. They are shaped by his meditations and interpretations on migration, history, memory, loss and nostalgia, and demonstrate his deep engagement with the world around him. K.S Radhakrishnan has experimented with alternate sculpting medium working in bronze casting His work has been exhibited in different solo and group shows in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in India and Centre Bords De Marne, Paris, and other centers in Denmark and Hong Kong. He has actively participated in many artist camps and workshops, including the ‘Silk Route’ at China, Two 2 Tango in South Africa and those held at Cairo, Thailand and France. He is the recipient of a number of prestigious awards.
