ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Plural Impressions brings together serigraphs and prints by M. F. Husain, exploring mythology, femininity, and cultural memory through shifting visual narratives. Drawing from the Ashtavinayak, Krishna Leela, Mahabharata, Gajagamini, and Rajasthan series, the exhibition transforms familiar stories into fluid expressions of line, gesture, and emotion. Husain’s fragmented forms reimagine figures such as Krishna and Ganesha beyond conventional iconography, allowing them to move between the sacred and the everyday with remarkable vitality. Through the medium of serigraphy, Plural Impressions highlights how images evolve across variations and reinterpretations, opening space for multiple meanings to emerge. Each work carries traces of movement and transformation, where mythology becomes dynamic rather than static, and cultural memory unfolds through shifting forms and perspectives. By bringing together these distinct series, the exhibition reveals Husain’s ability to translate timeless narratives into living visual experiences shaped by rhythm, spontaneity, and imagination.
