About the artist:
Born in Kolkata in 1969. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Viswa Bharti University, Shantiniketan. Bratin was inspired by Indian Mythology, folklore. Nature plays an important role in all his paintings, that are distinctly Indian, reminiscent of his childhood in rural Bengal. Bratin Khan’s paintings are part of many important private and corporate collections in India and around the world, including those of Indian Parliament House, RPG Group, Hero Honda group, Leela group of hotels, Taj group of hotels, Adani group, Birla Academy Kolkata and Sony Electronics, Japan and many more. The artist has held solo and group shows at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, Gallerie Nvya, Dhoomimal Art Centre, New Delhi, Emami Chisel Art, Kolkata, amongst others. Bratin Khan is the winner of the 1992 ‘best painting award’ from the Indian Society of Oriental Art and Culture.
