ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

“I dream my painting and I paint my dream.”    Vincent Willem van Gogh

Our early memories remain with us and subconsciously surface at unexpected moments in our lives.  These reminiscences have a very special space in our lives, a space that is virtually sacred. Rarely do we allow these experiences to come out and manifest themselves, but when we do, it’s often in an art form: Puppetry, painting, drawing, sculpture, mimicry, theatre, memoirs, novels, essays, poetry, storytelling or perhaps DastaanGoi and Shaayri…

Artists are essentially chroniclers of the times they live in; along with they also chronicle their own lives and times. Our exhibition titled “Nostalgia” is about the artists’ stories, which they have recreated from memories, experiences and their imagination. They could be nostalgic interpretation of their ideas, of time passing, memories, dreams and personal perceptions in their own style, genre, and medium. This distinct approach lends uniqueness to each artist’s work. Our exhibition also provides viewers an exploratory journey to experience various interpretations of Nostalgia reflecting their own personal emotions and memories.
