Bratin was born in Kolkata in 1969. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Viswa Bharati University, Santiniketan. Bratin was inspired by Indian mythology, folklore and was also deeply influenced by the life of Sri Aurobindo and thus enlightened beings. Such as Buddha, Jesus and Krishna. His figures are graceful and free flowing, light or glow emerges from their faces. Bratin uses tempra as a medium and paints distinct & unique styles that he mastered over the years. His eye for details and mastery of line makes his style unique and marked beauty and balanced compositions. Use very fine brush lakhs hatching and stripples in the work to give a grainy texture. His easel stories are all about the power of India’s heritage and culture. He has held many shows in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
